Andrew Stunell MP has raised the plight of homeless people in Parliament this Christmas season as thousands of people across the North West prepare to spend Christmas on the streets or in shelters.

Hazel Grove MP, Andrew Stunell said:

"Homelessness is a very real and worrying problem in our country. The charity, Shelter expects almost 130,000 children to be without a home on Christmas day.

"The problem of homelessness is even worse than Government figures suggest with thousands of 'hidden homeless' people living in temporary accommodation. I am asking the Government to do more to stop homelessness and to help some of our country's most vulnerable people.

"There are many charities and thousands of individuals who will provide shelter, food and support to homeless people this Christmas season - their dedication and generosity is an inspiration."
